A RARE EARLY MODEL OF THIS CLASSIC BRITISH DESIGN.
British company Hadrill & Horstmann was an erstwhile contemporary of the famous Herbert Terry 'Anglepoise' lamp. Although less well known, it is arguably better engineered and more elegant. The counterweight allows the head to be precisely set in any position without the need for springs innovative Hadrill & Horstmann lamps were leading the way with lighting solutions during the early 20th century.
Early models evolved into what has become one of the most coveted industrial lighting designs of the 20th century, the barrel weighted 'Roller'.
This highly sought after superb piece of British engineering
Excellent sympathetically restored condition, no non original parts, only lamp holder and rewired using period style fabric covered cable. It has a triangular oblong counterweight which features only on the earlier models. It has its original magnifying glass lens.
