A RARE EARLY MODEL OF THIS CLASSIC BRITISH DESIGN,
British company Hadrill & Horstmann was an erstwhile contemporary of the famous Herbert Terry 'Anglepoise' lamp. Although less well known, it is arguably better engineered and more elegant. The counterweight allows the head to be precisely set in any position without the need for springs innovative Hadrill & Horstmann lamps were leading the way with lighting solutions during the mid 20th century.
Early models evolved into what has become one of the most coveted industrial lighting designs of the 20th century, the barrel weighted 'Roller'. The new designs were embraced by the public and a number of unique variations were produced for use in the home, workshop or office.
This highly sought after superb piece of British engineering retains its original paint with steel arms is in good original vintage condition. There are blemishes to the paint as you would imagine for a lamp of this age.New switched cord grip lamp holder and Vintage Style 3 Core twisted Braided flex has been added.
